System Backups

All department file servers are backed up nightly to tape. Additionally, we offer this service to research groups on a bi-weekly schedule.

On Sunday and Wednesday evenings all research client machines will be backed up to tape. In order to participate in this service, client machines must have the most current Retrospect Client software installed. This software is available on the Software share.

Once the client software is installed users should email Justin Dawber with the machine name, folder or drive to be backed up, and client password (as specified during install). Backups should the begin on the next scheduled cycle
